Saturday October 12th
Noon until Midnight
$30 for all day pass or $12 for the final Double Feature (8:00pm start)

The Columbus Theatre
270 Broadway,
Providence, RI

On Saturday October 12 The Arkham Film Festival presents our Euro Horror Marathon featuring our tribute to director Lucio Fulci! You get six movies in one day all on 35mm and all Euro Horror. So far we have three classic Lucio Fulci films confirmed and we will be announcing the other three titles in the coming weeks.

Film Screening Schedule

11:45am - Doors Open

12:00pm – Opening Intro

12:15pm – The Horrible Doctor Hitchcock
The year is 1885, and necrophiliac Dr. Hitchcock likes to drug his wife for sexual funeral games. One day he accidentally administers an overdose and kills her. He leaves his home shattered. Several years later he remarries and returns. Discovering that his still beloved first wife is alive but insane and prematurely aged, he plans to use the blood of his new bride to rejuvenate and heal her.
(Come out early since our day will start with this excellent example of Italian Gothic Horror presented in a very rare but unfortunately redish print.)

2:00pm – Burial Ground (Plus Trailers)
A professor opens a crypt and reanimates rotten zombies. The zombies attack a jet-set-group which is celebrating a party in a villa nearby...
(I know we showed this film not too long ago, but it was popular and we felt we should show it again to make up for some technical issues during the previous screening of Burial Ground.)

4:00pm – Man From Deep River
A photographer in the rain forest is captured by wild natives and after months of living with them, he marries the chief's daughter and helps protect the village from a vicious cannibal tribe.

6:00pm – House By The Cemetery (Plus Trailers)
A New York Doctor moves his family to a Massachusetts home to continue a colleagues’ research only to uncover a horrible secret.

8:00pm – The Gates Of Hell (Plus Trailers)
A reporter and a psychic race to close the Gates of Hell after the suicide of a clergyman caused them to open, allowing the dead to rise from the grave.

10:00pm – The Beyond (plus Trailers)
A young woman inherits an old hotel in Louisiana where after a series of supernatural 'accidents', she learns that the building was built over one of the entrances to Hell.

This all day marathon will feature all films being screened from 35mm prints and vintage trailer shows. You can see all six films for only $30 or if you want to only see the final double feature of the night (starting at 8:00pm) the cost of admission will be $12. 35MM Returns in August!

Friday August 16th
8:00pm  $12.00
The Columbus Theatre
270 Broadway St.,
Providence, RI

On Friday August 16th The Arkham Film Society bring 35mm screenings back to Providence with one hell of a double feature. Not only are we bringing back 35mm but we’re bringing it back to the historic Columbus Theatre, a beautiful old single screen house just like the ones featured in out double feature. That’s right you get to watch cult classics DEMONS (1985) and POPCORN (1991) in the same style of theater the films take place in, plus you get great vintage trailers before each feature from the Arkham vaults!

DEMONS (1985), Two friends invited to a movie house grand opening find themselves trapped in the theater as the events of the on screen film seem to be reflected in the audience members.

POPCORN (1991), A group of film students decide to put on an old fashioned horror movie marathon only to have someone killing people during the features. The killer may have something to do with a murderous cult leader who died in a theater fire fifteen years earlier.

Please note that the above flyer is a temporary piece as we are working on something special.

Seytan, more commonly known as Turkish Exorcist is a shot-for-shot Turkish attempt to recreate The Exorcist (1973) for Turkish language audiences.
Those familiar with the Turkish remakes know that although the production values for these films aren't as high as their American predecessors, the films are always more fun to experience with an audience.
We're pleased to provide our audience with a rare opportunity to experience this film with a live audience.

Chris Alexander’s
BLOOD FOR IRINA

We bring you a special screening of Chris Alexander’s (the new editor of Fangoria magazine) new film BLOOD FOR IRINA, his modern homage to the films of
Jean Rollin.

Plot Outline
About "BLOOD FOR IRINA"

Irina (Shauna Henry) is dying. A predator who stalks streets at night looking for blood, she has lived over a century; tormented by memory, living in a run-down motel by the sea, Irina has reached the end. Her perceptions skewed, her body and mind revolting against themselves, she waits for an exit.

Her private hell is echoed by the motel manager (David Goodfellow, who also co-produced), driven by an obsession to protect Irina and keep her secrets safe, and a broken prostitute (Carrie Gemmell) whose desperate plight may be worse than Irina’s. It's the tale of three people living a life on the fringe, trapped in world of literal and figurative decay.

Alexander also co-produced, edited and co-shot "BLOOD FOR IRINA" and provides the film’s hypnotic score. Blood effects work was handled by Paul Jones (the "RESIDENT EVIL" series, "SILENT HILL").
